Canard Finder
About Us

This Canard finding service has grown out of David Orr's love of Burt Rutan's canard designs.  David, unable to afford an airplane, started building a Long EZ of his own in the early 1980s and finished it, family obligations and work not withstanding. In the process he volunteered his time to the Los Angeles canard builders with a club called Squadron II.  This was before Mr. Gore invented the internet and the club grew to 100 builders who attended meetings, fielded concerns and listened to talented guest lecturers.

Meanwhile some of the builders lost their medical license and had David try to find people to take on their plans and project so they would be complete.  With time "Beagle", as David became known to the growing West Coast Community, started realizing it was not the sellers who needed the most advice, it was the Buyers who needed the focus of his efforts.  He started in the mid-80s to find planes for people and has the pleasure of seeing many of his satisfied clients at every flyin he goes to.  He expanded his scope from Southern California to the rest of the United States and then on to the rest of the world.   Beagle occasionally goes to the EAA flyins around the country, but instead finds that the Canard community's own flyins are much more interesting - and he has attended well over 80 canard only events over the 20+ years he has flown these planes.   He's taught formation clinics and done airshows, but his first love is introducing new pilots to this wonderful set of planes.

Beagle can help you find the best canard for your pocket book and mission - he's got a 20 year track record and a lot of knowledge of these fine airplanes.
